Principales activités au programme des dernier jours, vernis à l'intérieur de Prana et approvisionnement pour notre départ prochain vers Grenade.

La tâche des vernis se fait ici car la température se prête mieux au séchage et c'est moins chaud pour le travail. Nous avons refait entre autre:

• La table de cockpit;
• La table du carré;
• La table à carte;
• Mains courantes du comptoir frigo, de l'évier et de la table à carte;
• Marche pied près du buffet;
• Rampes de la descente.

Dans le cadre des mains courantes, nous avons du sabler jusqu'au bois et refaire un vernissage complet (8-10 couches)

Ce travail nécessite plusieurs jours et comme nous touchions:

• aux tables, nous avons du manger assiette en main;
• à la section de l'évier, nous avons du faire la vaisselle dans un sceau.

Entre les 2 couches journalières, nous avons complété l'approvisionnement ce qui nous permettait de prendre une bonne bouffée d'air frais.

Dimanche 28 février. La semaine commence comme à l'habitude. Un après-midi de jeux (Train Mexicain à la sauce Québécoise) pour Louise avec ses comparses sur Odela. Le jeux s'arrête à 16:00 et les gars et les filles se rejoignent à la piscine du Mercure. Se joignent à nous, les Gobe-Sous, Oceane II, Dame Licorne, Odela, Jolie, Julie, Panache et Saphir. Encore un bon Mojito pour Louise et une bière pour moi Denis. Un peu de tristesse car Panache nous quitte pour remonter vers le Québec.

Mardi, 1 mars, grand départ pour Panache. Un dernier aurevoir et notre prochaine rencontre aura lieu chez eux l'été prochain. Nous leur souhaitons une belle navigation. En après-midi, Gulliver sort également du mouillage pour aller faire quelqeus mouillages autour de St-Martin avec sa visite.

Mercredi, 2 mars, c'est autour de Odela de quitter le mouillage avec sa visite. Comme Gulliver, ils seront autour de St-Martin pour quelques jours.

Nous ne somme plus beaucoup de notre gang mais nos fidèle amis de Jolie Julie sont toujours à nos côtés.

Jeudi 3 mars, grosse journée pour les Prana. Malgré le ciel menaçant, nous allons faire le lavage très tôt. De retour au bateau pour vers 8:45h, c'est le temps du séchage qui se fait très rapidement. Puis, après une petite pluie, le reste de la matiné reste douteuses côté météo. 

En PM, nous allons revérifier la route côté lagon français car selon Saphir, le canal semble avoir bougé puisqu'il a accroché à deux reprises dernièrement (à marée très basse). Ipad muni d'un GPS, la cartographie Navionics et Garmin et sondeur en main, nous partons avec l'annexe pour l'exploration. Le soleil est maintenant présent ce qui nous permet de voir facilement le canal par la couleur de l'eau. Après plusieurs passes, la nouvelle route est un peu plus au nord que la précédente. (Voir ce lien pour la route mise-à-jour).

Puis, petite visite sur Dame Licorne et Oceane qui sont ancrés près du pont Causeway. Une bière sur chacun... (une Heineken car c'est le temps de la Heineken Regata ici). Le temps passe vite et le temps nous manque pour rendre visite à Gobe-Sous. Nous prenons tout de même le temps de les saluer mais la bière sera pour une prochaine fois.

Vendredi 4 mars

Encore gris ce matin. Denis entreprend d'installer une bande de lumière LED dans le cockpit. Nous nous procurons une bande de plastique pour coller les LED. En PM, pour l'installation, il faut passer un fil de la console jusqu'au Bimini. l'après-midi y passera. Puis en fin de journée, nous allons sur Saphir pour un apéro dînatoire. Un autre bon moment.

Samedi 5 mars

Denis est prêt à débuter son vernis mais les travaux devront attendre demain car nous recevons pour l'apéro Suzanne et Daniel du voilier Marinade (Petit nouveau de la couvé 2015-2016) ainsi que Marie-Claire et Michel de Jolie Julie. Les apéros sont souvent dînatoire et cette soirée ne fait pas exception. La soirée se prolonge jusqu'à 21:00h. Marie-Claire et Michel n'ont pas d'égal pour rendre la conversation agréable.

Les apéros se bousculent cette semaine car les amis navigateurs quittent vers le nord ou vers le sud.

Prendre un court séjour – maximum 7 jours et si l’on décide de quitter la 5ème journée on appelle à la marina et le douanier se rend sur place pour effectuer la clearance OUT

Richard nous dit: Bob le responsable de la marina est extrêmement accueillant et fort sympathique, il va même nous aider avec sa voiture demain après-midi pour finaliser l'épicerie et quelques achats locaux. C'est lui qui a communiqué avec les agents frontaliers, service incroyable.

IMPORTANT d’entrer à la MARÉE HAUTE - très peu profond ou s’ancrer plus au large de la marina et d’y aller en dingy si tirant d’eau de 6.5 pieds

Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has implemented enhanced security procedures for small boat arrivals. This increased enforcement posture requires physical reporting to a designated local CBP office when returning from foreign ports or locations for a face-to-face inspection, unless enrolled in an alternative inspection program that would allow arrival reporting by phone.

Alternative Inspection Programs Accepted in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands

Local Boater Option (LBO) Program
Participants in this program may report their arrival to CBP by calling one of the locations mentioned below. Participants in this program may be exempt from reporting for an in-person inspection, unless directed by a CBP officer. Participation in the LBO program does not exempt boaters from decal requirement.

Also, CBP has implemented the Small Vessel Reporting System (SVRS); available to all U.S. citizens, nationals and lawful permanent residents; Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada who are nationals of a Visa Waiver Program country. SVRS is a web-based automated on-line reporting system created for LBO participants to expeditiously report their intended arrivals from foreign. In addition, the web-based system will facilitate the enrollment of new applicants for SVRS. New applicants will be able to enroll and make an appointment for a face-to-face interview with a CBP Officer at an authorized reporting location of their choosing. Once participation in SVRS is granted by CBP, the participant will receive an email with their SVRS number and instructions for setting their initial password for SVRS. Current LBO participants must apply on-line for a password to access the float plan functions of SVRS.

Pleasure Boat Clearance Procedures

Clearance procedures for pleasure boats arriving at the United States from foreign port include:

Arrivals to the US Virgin Islands from a foreign port and,
Arrivals to Puerto Rico (including Vieques and Culebra) from the US Virgin Islands and foreign ports
What information do I need to provide when I call?

The Master of the vessel must report arrival via telephone immediately upon arrival to a designated inspection site within the jurisdiction of Puerto Rico (including Vieques and Culebra) and the US Virgin Islands. See below telephone numbers.

Name, date of birth and citizenship of all persons on board (including passport number and visa information if applicable)*;
Name of the boat and/or boat registration number and nationality

Decal Information

Decals are stickers that are placed on all private aircraft and private vessels (30 feet or more in length) as proof that the User Fee for entry into the U.S. has been paid for the calendar year. If a vessel or aircraft does not have a decal upon entering the U.S., an application must be completed and a User Fee purchased when reporting to CBP. Participation in the LBO program does not preclude the decal requirement. In order to obtain your decal you can login to our web page or submit a paper application:

Paper Application

CBP sent User Fee renewal applications to all customers who purchased calendar year User Fees. The renewal application will list all the information the customer provided for the purchase of the User Fees. Instructions are included for the completion of the application. Incorrect information should be revised and missing information should be provided on the pre-printed renewal application. We recommend that applicants provide all information requested, per the instructions, to avoid CBP having to return the application without a decal/transponder. Failure to Report:

Failure to report can result in civil penalties as defined in Title 19, Unites States Code Section 1436, to include a penalty of $5,000 for the first violation and $10,000 for each subsequent violation with the conveyance subject to seizure and forfeiture. In addition, to being liable for a civil penalty, any master who intentionally commits a violation under subsection (a) of the above stated section, upon conviction is liable for a fine of not more than $2,000 or imprisonment for one year or both.
